About PlaintextHeadlines

Curated news headlines, no clutter

PlaintextHeadlines is a free, noncommercial news aggregation service designed for people who want easily readable headlines from reliable sources, particularly those with vision impairments who benefit from simplified, plaintext presentation.

How It Works

We collect headlines from curated news sources using their publicly available RSS feeds, a format publishers provide specifically for third-party distribution. Each headline is rewritten to be expressed in a new way: a concise, factual summary (12 words or fewer), classified by topic, and grouped to show which stories are being covered across multiple sources.

Every headline links directly back to the original article on the publisher's site. We display the destination domain so you always know where a link leads before clicking.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't compete with publishers -- we drive readers to their sites
  • We don't track you -- no cookies, no accounts, no personal data collected
  • We don't display advertising or generate revenue from this service

Our Sources

We aggregate from many RSS feeds spanning world news, accessibility and vision-related publications, technology, science, and AI. Sources are selected for reliability and relevance. Every source provides an RSS or Atom feed.
